Siru Peak
- Though it is formally named as "Ungsan (Mt. Ung)" on map, it is generally called "Sirubong (Siru Peak)" because of looking like a round earthenware streamer upside down. Mt. Ung ranges from Jinhae to Changwon and Gimhae, and it is linked to Mt. Jangbok to the northwest, Mt. Sangseong to the southwest and Cheonja Peak to the south. Mt. Ung, one of noted mountains in Jinhae, is where a religious rite was carried out for national prosperity and welfare in the Reign of Silla and for the god of a mountain up to the early years of Joseon Dynasty. On a fine day, you can see Tsushima in Japan from this Siru Rock. A plaintive loving story has it that a Gisaeong (Official dancing & singing woman for entertainment) of "Acheonja" adored an official interpreter who frequently had to have been to Japan when Ungcheon was opened up for Japanese trade with Joseon. While he had gone to Japan, she waited standing on this rock, overlooking the Tsushima at a distance until he came back to Joseon.
