| Yongji park, Changwon City’s premier park is
located in the center of the city. It offers various attractions
as a meeting place as well as a cultural zone within the city
offering many cultural and art performances. The park presents various relics symbolizing Changwon: "Changwon Citizen’s Charter" with the inscription of action ideals for citizens for cultural and economic development of our region; "Yeongnam Pojeongsa (Temple)" built to instill citizens with self-esteem as well as declaring that Changwon is the center of the province; "Lee Won Su Noraebi (song monument)" built to commemorate composer Lee Won-su who composed Korea’s most popular children’s song, Spring of Hometown; and “Bongrimsaji three-story stone pagodas" restored as the original, Local Tangible Cultural Asset No.26. Yongji Park Lake frequented by citizens, is equipped with a musical fountain, presenting a gala show of water fountains dotting the night sky along with the water screen and laser show. It is crowded with citizens that enjoy watching the musical fountain show, turning the park into Changwon’s new landmark. |
