Introduction of Gyeongnam Immigrants Social Center

Gyeongnam immigrant social center is playing an important role in international civil diplomacy because not only approximately 10 thousand immigrants visits the center and receive consulting service but also various embassies come to us and ask us to take care of the civil affairs.

On March 6th, 2008 the mayor of Changwon-si, Park Wan soo visited the center and had discussions with representatives of each country's community association. Realizing the call center is too small in comparison with the work they do, he planned to move to a better place. So Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon-si had a budget preparation in an amount of 800million Won as a supplementary budget and leased the building located in 152-7, Palyong-dong, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, and established the Gyeongnam Immigrants Social Center which is a total welfare facility for immigrants for the first time in Gyeonsangnam-do. And the city has commissioned us to operate the center. We have finished the interior work with the help of many religious groups and Christian societies along with the sponsorship from Gyeongnam Bank(100million won Sponsorship). We have been providing service since Nov. 2008.

Free Meal
- Volunteers will prepare the meal in groups and prepare to serve dinner.
- After the mass everyone has a meal together.
Korean Class
- It is operated from 4PM~6PM weekly and has a beginner, intermediate, and expert courses.
Labor and hunam rights consulting
- We provide consulting services all year long.
English Mass Service
- English Mass Service Every Sunday 4PM
Multicultural Family Children's Program
- We have a class for Korean, art, P.E, recreation etc. against the children who does not go to school
from 3PM~5PM every Sunday.
